Appointment Process

Please bring a valid government-issued I.D. on the date of your appointment. Your I.D. will be used as our means of confirmation. Failure to provide said I.D. will result in a loss of appointment and deposit.

Scheduling

Deposits are non-refundable and are used to hold the date and time of your appointment as well as compensate the artist for design time prior to the session. This payment will be applied to the final cost of your appointment.
Should you have plans to reschedule, please let us know at least three (3) or more days in advance, so we can reschedule your appointment. If you do not inform us of your need to reschedule within this time frame, you will forfeit your deposit.
We allow up to two reschedules. A third reschedule will require a new deposit and the forfeiture of the original.
Deposits are valid to use towards a rescheduled appointment for up to 6 months after an initial appointment date - past this, you will forfeit your deposit and require a new one to book.
Hygiene & Sterilization Procedures
All Inked NYC artists and associates are thoroughly trained in the practice standards set by State and Industry Law. We not only follow, but exceed these standards. All stations are cleaned and disinfected before and after each session. Through consultations with the New York State Health Department, we have ensured that all surfaces (walls, floors, furnishings, equipment) comply with sterility standards. The professional execution of our disinfection/sterilization routine is continuously reviewed to improve standards. All equipment is “single-use” and provided with an expiration date. All items that come into direct contact with skin are securely disposed of after each session. Sterile equipment is unpacked in front of the client. Each artist’s station is organized and optimized for workflow.
    • The artist/associate is wearing washable work clothing.
    • There is a sterile workstation with single-use supplies provided for each artist, per appointment.
    • The client and artist have properly sanitized all areas of the body that are subject to contact or exposure.
    • Workstations are properly spaced apart and separated from high-traffic areas.
    • All furnishings along with floors and walls are washable and easy to disinfect.
    • Multiple disinfectants are in proximity to workstations.
    • All direct surfaces used in the tattooing process are wrapped with a sterilization barrier that is disposed of after each session. The surface is then sterilized for the following session.
We require a detailed declaration of consent, wherein clients are informed of all possible concerns and clauses. We strive to adapt to the needs of each client, should there be any health concerns.
Billing
All artists determine their own pricing and determine estimates based on several criteria such as size, placement, complexity, etc.
Artists will estimate a general price range for your consideration. Unless there are significant changes to a design or unforeseen circumstances, you will not be billed more than the highest amount of the estimated range.
In order to book an appointment, artists require a non-refundable deposit to secure a date and time.
We begin billing at the agreed start time of the appointment, regardless of the time you arrive. Failure to arrive within a reasonable time frame or not showing up will result in an automatic forfeiture of your deposit.
Significant design changes after completing the booking process will result in a cost change, due to an increased time estimate and potential forfeiture of your deposit and appointment. Please let us know at least three (3) or more days in advance should you consider any significant design changes.
Risks Associated with Tattoos
A tattoo is a piece of art that will last forever. Currently, there is no known method to remove a tattoo completely.
While tattoos are becoming more popular/accepted in general culture, they are not welcome everywhere. It’s important to consider how tattoos will affect how you are perceived, especially in certain professions or cultures.
A tattoo will always differ slightly from the drawing/stencil. There are many factors that determine this; skin type, tone, and body shape.
Complications, allergies, infections, and inflammation are all possible risks. Despite our compliance with the utmost hygiene/sanitation standards, there is always the risk of a reaction. We strongly recommend consulting with a doctor/dermatologist to assess personal risks before scheduling an appointment. Artists will provide their detailed aftercare procedure, but it is up to you to maintain that regimen. Should you have any questions or concerns along the way, please feel free to contact us.
In very rare situations, skin can be prone to a “blow-out”. A “blow-out” happens when skin cannot retain ink in the proper way, appearing like ink on a blotting paper. While this is harmless, it’s a risk that cannot be prevented. Please consult with a doctor/dermatologist should this be of personal concern.
Do your research on the tattoo aging process, possible skin conditions, or any other concerns you may have - we recommend consulting with your dermatologist if necessary. We are happy to provide as much information as we can, but it’s important to be well-informed before your appointment.
